21.01.15.

Source Link

- there will be no possibility to remove maps you don’t want to play from your map pool

- in upcoming several patches, there will not be a new heavily armored heavy tank branch introduced in the game
- supertesters are players with various winrates, so that the supertest resembles the random battles better
- currently, WG is investigating the issue of map repeating frequence (“I keep getting the same map over and over”) (SS: yes please, fucking Erleberg in 7 of 18 battles….)
- M48 Patton will be buffed (“when it’s done it’s done”)
- currently, Wargaming is working on “Matchmaker 3.0″. In it, every tank will have a “role” and vehicles will be balanced depending on it.
- WG is currently working on a “league” system for team battles (weak teams will be in second league, strong teams in first). It will appear in one of the upcoming patches.
- XP bonus for “tanking” will come soon
- alternative hulls: “when it’s done it’s done”
- KV-5 will not be buffed
- next version of minimap will bring the option to ping the maps so that only your platoon mates see your ping

- Jagdpanzer E-100 will not be switched for “something real” – and there is no incentive to do so, the vehicle is fine
- various branches (SS: specifically German TD’s mentioned) will not be reworked in order to have all the vehicles in them with the same playstyle (SS: basically, the player wants to switch the TD’s around so the entire branches get a specific “character” – this will not happen, with existing branches anyway)
- T30 will not be “returned” to the heavy tank branch
- KV-4 will not lose its unhistorical top gun
- why was LT buff done the way it was in 9.6? “No comment”
- tier 8-10 penetrantion nerf of some vehicles was not yet decided (it’s not clear how WG will do it)
- the historicity of gun penetration is less important than the importance of the gun (vehicle) being balance gameplay-wise
- damaging external modules does not count as damage done in battle, only damaging the main tank hitpoints does
- IS-7 has historical armor, E-100 didn’t have a turret in real life and that’s why the turret thickness can be balanced however WG wants, Maus armor is based on research of Yuri Pasholok, who said that the values could be different and 200+
- the FV215b (183) armor buff in 0.9.5 is “based on historicity” (SS: wut?)
- Storm states that a player proposal to reduce scout tank hitpoints while compensating that with improving other characteristics (camo, mobility) would only result in unrealistic (“UFO”) tanks
- the replacement for WT E-100 is not the twin 128mm “Flakzwilling” mount WT
- not only the Waffenträger line has balance problems, the earlier considered “Sturm” TD line (Brummbär and Sturmtiger) has them as well
- it’s possible that there will be new perks, modules and consumables, but it’s not guaranteed they will come this year
- no free FV4202 premium? “No comment”
- currently, WG is reworking WoT audio under to the “wwise” system, unclear as to what will it mean for WoT players
- the spawn point distribution (as in, how vehicles are placed within the spawn area) are chosen so that they are evenly distributed and balanced
- the issue with small objects of houses (like porches, stairs) being undestructible – this will be reworked, but not soon (during “complete content overhaul”)
- AMX CDC is still being balanced, it’s too early to judge it
- WoT will not have a separate subscription-based server
- Storm states that the nostalgia after old patches is just the effect of human memory of remembering only good things. The reality, when comparing them to the current state of the game, they suck. Not so long ago, WG was “testing” an old version of the game (6.0 or something), it was terrible.

- the issue that the medal for the winter mode (on RU server) is not found in correct medal section will be fixed
- it’s unclear whether there will be any second American medium line with T95/T96 (SS: Storm evaded the question)
- HD IS-3 will come “when it’s done”
- regarding the HD rework of Type 59 and Jagdtiger 88 (and their unhistorical armor), it’s not sure yet what will happen (“we will think how to do it correctly”), the decision was not taken yet
- the amount of arty in battles is satisfactory
- it’s possible technologies from other WG projects will be implemented into WoT
- earlier, multicore support was impossible due to Umbra middleware. This situation has changed.
- Storm states he doesn’t play arty, but other WG devs that do a lot (experts) like the Battle Assistant mode
- developers have thought about implementing Battle Assistant mode into World of Tanks, but Storm states it would have to come along with an arty nerf, so for now no proper solution was found
- Storm openly says that the Battle Assistant mod does give players an advantage in game
- some of the solutions for arty (should the Battle Assistant mode be implemented) include showing arty reload timers to players or to designate the sector where the arty is firing from (SS: now that’s just copying Armored Warfare)
- three equipment slots are “an axiom” in WG (SS: as in, won’t change)
- Storm doesn’t consider the manual enabling of Personal Missions a fail, both manual and automatic enabling have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include “informed choice of mission”. There’s not “too much clicking” involved in Storm’s opinion.
- IM filters will be reworked
- Storm states that the situation where strong clans dominate the stronghold mode is fine – it’s “strongest survives”, otherwise there would be no motivation
- there was no promise made that there would be a special mode suitable for weaker clans
- artillery accuracy was not “secretly nerfed”, “all the changes are in patchnotes”
- it’s not technically possible to set a different accuracy spread for individual tanks
- for now, no premium account buffs are planned
- there is no info in internal WG plans for better clan management functions
- an “extension” of team battles is currently being developed
- the next branch to involve “monster tanks” á la Maus will be the Japanese heavies
- the render range will be changed to circle soon, WG expects exploiters (who use this for trick shots) to whine
- the removal of platoon element in IM’s is not planned for now
- it’s possible that tanks with limited MM (FCM 50t) will be removed from the shop
- Panzer V/IV rebalance will not come anytime soon
- no ETA on HD M6A2E1 premium tank, as “it’s not all up to Wargaming”
- very long battles (possibly with PvE element) that the players will be able to join in progress are planned
- reconnect mechanism (of a client after a connection loss) will be reworked
- Storm cannot publish Stronkhold statistics regarding amounts of clans and the tier of their bases
- roaming was cancelled. The reason is the inadequacy of Russian server players, who would abuse it to screw with battles on other servers. There are however also problems not related with RU behavior – mass migrations might harm server stability.
- it’s possible that more settings will be introduced to minimap (fonts and such), but no guarantees
- there will NOT be skill MM
- Storm states that server for 50+ winrate players would not be successful, as players would leave it quickly “due to the increased difficulty of battles”
- T95E2 is apparently fine statistically (counting in the fact skilled players have it in their hands), later however Storm states he’ll have a look at it
- Q: “WG sucks, everything is bad, WoT sucks and you devs suck!” A: “Shit happens. Don’t overeat in the night, do excercises in the morning and everything’s going to be fine.”
- Storm confirms that he is aware of the “too many draws on Swamp map” issue, the map will be reworked. If these changes do not improve the situation, the map will be removed.
- Storm states that the amount of team battle players is not dropping, it’s slowly rising actually. There are plans to develop the mode further.
- the appearance of FV4202 in 9.6 test (for supertesters) does NOT mean that there will be two FV4202′s at the same time (premium and non-premium), it means that the premium FV4202 will simply be tested for longer time
- Czechoslovak branch in WoT: “I cannot say anything. Well, I can, but I can’t.”
- 9.7 will bring AMX-30? “That I also cannot say :(”
- WG is working on increasing the map size. No details for now, it’s not clear yet to which size and which maps will be made bigger.
- MM 3.0 – “for now it’s just a theory, it will take a long time to implement”. Storm confirms there will be MM fixes, but it will definitely not each team having a vehicle of certain class (“slots”).
- regarding the client size, Storm states that one vehicle is now cca 30 MB, so all the vehicles are like 400 * 30 = 12 Gigs. For players with weak computers, there will be a special SD variant (SD client) with reduced texture quality.
- Veider talks about the upcoming TD viewrange nerf: it will not harm TD’s, unless you are scouting with them or something. It did not come up in vacuum. Statistics were made and analyzed. The problem with TD viewrange is that TD’s do not “scout” (light targets up) much in the battles, they only do that at the end of the battle, when they are in critical situation. In such cases, they are OP in defense – thanks to their viewrange it’s difficult to attack them. Generally, the change will not influence the class gameplay, nobody will kick TD’s out of the bushes.
- it’s possible that in the future, some TD’s will have their accuracy nerfed
- gameplay inertia is taken into account in balance changes
- Aufklärungspanzer Panther will be completely removed, not made premium
- it’s “completely possible” that Italy and Sweden will get completely independent trees
- it’s possible girl crews will get girl voiceover
- one of the variants of dealing with platoon IM’s (change them) is to allow these missions to be played by solo players too, but with more difficult conditions. For now however, the platoon requirement stays.
- developers will not increase the amount of equipment slots for gold (it’s pay to win too much)
- Havok will not increase WoT’s minimal requirements, as it will be optional
- tank shell trajectory will not be changed to resemble a curve on horizontal plane
- progress bar of IM’s in battle is already being developed
- it will not be possible to select IM directly in battle
- Japanese premium MT (STA-2) is almost ready
- Storm states that lags and freezes when switching to arty mode stopped being a massive problem after the fixed from last patches
- the option to transfer XP from one crewmember to another will not be implemented
- Minsk map will not be implemented apparently
- it’s possible company mode will be completely removed
- Chat 2.0 is in the implementation process. It has however issues when the amount of players is too high.
- developers are working on HD maps as well
- it’s possible Sh-37 Soviet gun penetration will be revisited
- low caliber autocannons with limited range will not have their range increased, it’s not just a game issue, but also a server performance issue
- it’s likely that perk rebalance will not come this year
- KV-5 miniturret buff would only come at the expense of that tank losing its limited MM
- unique perks for events will not be implemented
- the result of the recent armor role discussion will be a nerf of several outstanding guns’ penetration, but beyond that, nothing for now, these “quite possibly” include 300mm+ pen guns
- new emblems are not planned for now
- Storm played more than before lately, didn’t like IS-8 so he switched to US M6
- Q: “What’s with garage battles?” A: “Nothing”
- 30 x 30 format was scrapped for now
- low to mid tier vehicles will not recieve limited +1/-1 MM
- multiturret mechanism is not being developed for now
- AMX CDC and T-54 model 1945 will not have limited MM
- Tiger L/56 is a tester tank, no decision about it yet
- Panther 88 will not recieve limited MM
- T67 will be investigated for being OP (SS: as in, possibly nerfed)
- Prokhorovka and Swamp will not be limited to tiers 1-6
- Storm states that there is no such thing as a “corridor maps trend”, the result of the entire “corridor” discussion/whine were changes on several specific maps
- Severogorsk was removed because it was boring
- Object 260 will not be nerfed for now, too few statistics are available
- TD2 mission will be investigated, there’s possibly a bug.
- AMX CDC will possibly be a normal (purchaseable) premium tank, but it’s not totally sure yet
- companies will not be reworked to 7/42 format
- developers are currently discussing whether to make girl crew voiceover (SS: yes, before they said they would, apparently not as clear now)
- Storm states that it’s unclear as to what to do with the T95/T96 and other US medium tanks. New US medium branch is not planned for 2015.
- Storm actuall asked the people responsible for the Stronghold situation. They know about the issue with large clans dominating the mode. There will be some fixes to remedy the situation.
- Storm confirms that there will be a change in shot distribution within aim circle. It will not be a simple sigma change, but a manually configured special variant, with a table showing “how much of what is supposed to fly where”, this table will apply to all the vehicles in the game. The reason for this is that it’s beneficial server load-wise.
- real life shell distribution from real firing tests is not viable for gameplay, that’s why WG has to have their own

- it’s “completely possible” the Japanese heavy branch will come this year
- there will also be a Japanese premium heavy tank
- Storm states that increasing the render range is not that easy – in order to do that, you’d have to transmit more data via packets and the packet size has to remain the same, so the transfer accuracy will not be as high with the same amount of data. The reduction of the accuracy would in turn bring strange behavior of tanks on long distances (jumps, teleports, sudden turns etc.)
- Q: “If you remove the company mode, what will the clans do for training?” A: “Play team battles for example.”
- it’s not clear whether the “6th sense as radioman’s skill” overhaul will come this year
- AMX-13/75 will be buffed in 0.9.7
- Storm stated that if they returned the confrontation mode and made it disabled by default, there would be too long queues (noone would play it)
- Storm agrees that “victory” should be a requirement for all IM missions (SS: as in to suppress anti-team tactics)
- new premium tanks will NOT have limited MM at all. Only in very extreme cases. When asked for proper explanation of this, Storm refused, saying only: “I am not sure I can express those reasons. Let me put it this way: for a longer existence of the project, this variant is more correct.” He later adds that it’s a really complicated matter and that they have an idea how to do this correctly.
- Storm states that while the details have to be discussed with map makers, it is a general rule that maps with hills on their edges and with lowered center (“bowls”) do not play well
- a player said that Sacred Valley is well playable – Storm replied that “many think otherwise”
- for now, there is no plan to add alternative IM’s to the platoon ones for single players
- regarding “thanking” players in battle (positive feedback), Storm stated that once, there was a plan to add an option to “thank” good players by sharing a portion of your XP and credits with them. Currently, there’s no decision on that.
- FV215b (120) will be removed from the game because it’s a fake, it will be replace by a Chieftain
- Hitlerpanther will appear in the ingame shop for gold as well and this is how it will be with all premium tanks: first in premium magazine, than in the ingame shop
- training rooms for a single player will not be implemented, the reason is server performance – it’s expensive resource-wise to have rooms for only one player
- a regular TOG branch (second British heavy branch) will definitely not come in 2015
- Waffenträger E-100 will be replaced. Its replacement will not have an autoloader and it will be based on historical project (SS: yes, I know what it is and no, you won’t find it on the internet, it’s a new thing from archives)
- Waffenträger auf PzIV will not be changed. For now.
- Storm will investigate whether VK3001P should be buffed
- animated parts of tanks (shell ejections) will be discussed after all tanks are reworked to HD
- Storm states that improved render will be optimized further and further until it reaches the “old” render in performance. After that, it’s possible that the old render will be removed altogether
- it was discussed a long time ago not to allow players to shoot their own teammates at all – this idea was rejected
- Q: “Why are there no credit/XP rewards for epic medals, such as Radley Walters?” A: “There are rewards for individual missions.”
- currently, there are no “totally bad” maps in the game – there are problematic maps, that will be reworked. If the rework does not fulfill its purpose, they will be completely removed the way it was done for example with Severogorsk
- it’s possible that perk rebalance will not appear in 2015
- the amount of crew XP needed to train skills and perks will not be reduced
- regarding the artillery appearing on the top of the team (as its top tank), Storm states that “nothing can be done with that, for now”
- Aufklärungspanzer Panther will not become a premium vehicle
- a player pointed out that the percentual difference between hitpoints of heavies and mediums is much higher on mid tiers than on tier ten for example. Storm replied that it’s inconclusive and that they are thinking about it.
- Storm confirms that 9.5 brought some client crashes. WG is working on that. But also adds that majority of the reports for crashes was caused by mods.
- Havok will come in “far future” (not anytime soon)
- no plans to change tank colours
- there are no plans to ban (disable) noobmeter (XVM)
- if you see a 45 percent winrate player with 250 WN8 on an IS-3, it does not automatically mean he’s a bot. It can very well be a bad player. Storm states that there are players with even worse results and they are playing in person, it was checked.
- the girl crew special perk “sisterhood of steal” counts as 0 perk, which means that the next (second) perk the girl gets will train as fast as 1st perk of a male crewmember
- there will be various events in the future, but the “White Tiger” event will not repeat
- content introduction does have limits – it’s not possible to introduce multi-gigabyte patches every week
- during the WT E-100 replacement, there will not be any “compensation”, the tank will simply switch
- for now, converting XP to crew XP is not planned
- the render range square to circle switch will not influence the frequency of vehicle data transfer from server
- “additional ammo” consumable/equipment is not planned
- gold ammo hardcap is not planned
- Prokhorovka is currently bugged – some of the bushes provide no camouflage whatsoever. This will be fixed in 9.6
- statistics do not confirm that platoons end up on the bottom of the team more than they should
- a player proposed that arty should lose all shell types save for HE ones. This will not happen.
- no plans to purge 0-100 battle accounts that haven’t played for years, for now
- new sounds, new vegetation render, DirectX11 support ETA? “I will not make any prognosis for now”
- after HD rework, AMX-50B height stays the way it is
- it’s possible that ALL the premium tanks, that have limited MM will soon be removed from sales. Storm admits that it’s possible that this will create a difference between old players with limited MM vehicles and new players, stuck with full MM vehicles and give the first group an advantage. He adds that “it’s hard to tell”
- HE penetration mechanism will not be changed
- IM reward tanks “do not have any advantages save for their uniqueness”, apart from being able to use other crews without penalties
- “flickering bushes” bug was partially fixed in 9.6
- “twitching” of tanks in replays is fixed in 9.6
- SU-122-54 will not be buffed anytime soon
- it’s possible Chinese 122mm guns have incorrect length, it will be investigated
- test will come “soon”
- new physics test might come in February
- one of the scenarios for Havok (that was shifted to “far future”, see previous post) is that the entire destructable building part will be scrapped and it will be only used for the realistic behavior of “junk” on tanks (like, shovels flying off)
- 25 percent penetration RNG will not be reduced
- Storm confirms that guns “significantly standing out in penetration” will have their penetration nerfed in near future
- Storm, commenting on the HT mission where you have to cap the base being too difficult: “There are some complications, but we’ll think what to do with it. No promises though for now.”
- many things were changed in WOT based on player surveys
- French LT’s won’t be buffed apparently, because “their situation is better than those tanks that are getting buffed”
- Aufklärungspanzer Panther (tier 7 LT) will be removed from the game and replaced bySP.I.C. (SS: oh, I proposed that almost two years ago, well, better late than never)
- the change mentioned above will happen in 2015
- it’s possible WT E-100 will be removed from the game as well, WG is considering it, as there are options now (SS: …and they are awesome. Well, okay, one is.)
